Happy Christmas
(post-Twelfth Night)
When doctrine and
theology --
the tyranny of
right belief --
begin to feel like
so many grasping
hands pulling
and tearing --
I simplify:
Love came down
at Christmas;
all Truth is paradox;
and grace isn't
supposed to be fair.
Because
the spirit-life
is more than belief --
And it's deeper
than love.
There may be work
and more work --
but breathe deep,
stand down, and
let God.
