Fall Decor
The other day
I kneeled to gather
empty walnut shells,
fascinated by their
wrinkled recesses --
symmetrical and
individual,
like a human face.
The empty capsule
of personal history –
from purloined seed
to nesting design --
Cradle and grave,
then cradle again.
As all things are:
anima/animas.
