No Disappointments
I rarely write of other people --
preferring the less dangerous,
more exalted territory
of things --
Like veins through a leaf,
mountains in a mood,
my square dance with time --
Their motives I don't need to
suspect;
their behavior I can parse
without hurt --
And their witness
I more than understand.
